About Us
Nish-Chintha, meaning "worry-free or "no stress" is a unique and pioneering Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Palakkad district, Kerala, India. It is a registered society of parents of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Multiple Disabilities. The core mission of Nish-Chintha is to provide a sustainable, long-term, worry-free assisted community living , addressing the crucial question: "What after us?
Nish-Chintha is registered under the societies registration Act 1860 with Registration Number PKD/CA/392/2014.

To empower worry-free living for families having children with developmental and intellectual disabilities, with self-managed long-term care, livelihood and learning opportunities.

Community integrated self-sufficient living managed by families for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Life at Nish-Chintha
Cohabitation is at the centre of life at Nish-Chinta, and our aim is to co-create, collaborate and constructively find solutions for improving the quality of life of the Nish-chinthites. This is achieved through a strong network of parents and care givers, facilitated by ergonomically designed infrastructure, technological solutions, and access to health and wellbeing amenities. Learning and development programs and activities, that continuously evolve to stay ahead of the times is also a unique value proposition that Nish-Chinta has to offer.

NAtional Center for Assisted Living and Skill development - NACALS
NACALS is the heart and soul of Nish-Chinta. Our foremost priority is to empower Nish-chinthites with engaging, enriching and entertaining activities. As a community, our vision is to establish learning and development initiatives including therapies, skill development, general health and well-being etc. Our ultimate goal is to provide these services to the wider community, and create a platform for knowledge sharing so that our successes can be replicated elsewhere.
Resources
In addition to integrated rehabilitation program for our children with special needs and ourselves, we are also working on many projects leading to discovery of knowledge in the space of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Here we showcase the knowledge thus discovered as research reports, Newsletters, Government Circulars & Acts, and links to many articles of interest.
